Andrea Vecchione

Executive Director, Development & Strategic Partnerships at Pacific School of Religion

Andrea Vecchione is pleased to combine her passions – empowering students through education which ignites and inspires and creating engaging opportunities for financial growth, supporting mission driven organizations. With over ten years in the non-profit sector, is excited to help generate revenue pathways for PSR.

Andrea also brings a deep understanding of the importance and work of theological education. She holds a MA in Education from Mills College, and a PhD in Religion and Philosophy from the California Institute of Integral Studies. Her dissertation topic was; “Traditional Ecological Knowledge: Sacred Groves in South India, Belief Systems as Ecological Preservation.” She is very interested in women in Buddhism, and currently finished writing a book about the challenges faced by women joining the ancient Buddhist movement.

Outside of work hours, she teaches mediation and Buddhism through the SF Dharma Collective. Ask Andrea about travel, gardening, California natural ecosystems, being a death doula educator and her philosophy on social change through spiritual understanding of interconnection.
