Samuel Fajana

Samuel Fajana began their work experience in 2021 as a Student Intern at the Center for Space Research and Application in FUTA, and the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria in Ibadan. Samuel then took on a Marine and Community Conservation Remote Externship with both National Geographic and The Nature Conservancy. In 2022, they became a Student Intern at IUFRO - International Union of Forest Research Organizations, and a TikTok Content team and Student Ambassador at Paragon One. As a Student Ambassador, they were responsible for promoting Paragon One remote externship programs on social media, providing guides and tips on program application, and mentoring and coaching young students on how to position themselves for global opportunities. Samuel also won a seed fund of $2,000 from National Geographic and The Nature Conservancy to further their remote externship research on marine and community conservation which focused on educating, sensitizing and training Araromi Seaside residents on ocean challenges and solutions, and designing skill up programs for students and youth in the community, as well as coordinating a community led clean up activity at the sea shore.

Samuel Fajana has an education history of attending Federal University of Technology Akure from 2017 to 2022, where they obtained an Undergraduate degree in Forestry and Wood Technology. Samuel also has additional certifications, such as a Certificate of Appreciation from Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) in September 2022, a Certificate of Appreciation from RECOFTC in October 2021, a Certificate of Outstanding Completion from National Geographic, a Certificate of Outstanding Completion from The Nature Conservancy, and a Certification of Participation in Spanish Language School from International Forestry Students' Association (IFSA).
