Bhakthi Sahgal has a diverse work experience in various organizations and roles. Bhakthi started their career in 2008 as a Laboratory Intern at OHSU - Oregon National Primate Research Center. Bhakthi then worked as an Extern in the Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Department at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2011. In 2011, they also served as a Leadership Intern at Virginia Garcia Memorial Foundation. In 2012, they worked as a Leadership Intern at Puentes de Salud. Bhakthi joined the Council of the District of Columbia in 2013 as a Legislative Intern in the Committee on Health. In the same year, they became a Research Associate at George Washington University in the Jacobs Institute of Women's Health. In 2014, they worked as a Graduate Fellow (Policy) at the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy/Executive Office of the President. Bhakthi also served as an Editorial Assistant at Women's Health Issues from 2014 to 2015. In 2016, they worked as a Congressional Fellow at the Women's Congressional Policy Institute. Currently, Bhakthi is with the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), where they started as a Program Associate in the Office of the Chief Science Officer in 2017, and now holds the position of Manager of Operations since March 2019.

Bhakthi Sahgal's education history began at The Catlin Gabel School from 2003 to 2009, where the specific degree and field of study are unknown. Later, from 2009 to 2013, Bhakthi attended Bryn Mawr College, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science. In 2012, Bhakthi briefly studied Health Care Policy at The Wharton School. Following this, from 2013 to 2015, Bhakthi pursued a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Health Policy at the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. Lastly, Bhakthi enrolled at Stanford University, completing a program in Designing for Social Systems in 2019.
