Sohail Shah

Sohail Shah has an extensive work experience in the field of pediatric surgery. Sohail currently serves as the Chief, Division of Pediatric Surgery at The Woman's Hospital of Texas and holds the position of Medical Director at Pediatrix Medical Group. Sohail has also held various roles at Baylor College of Medicine, including Associate Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics, and Assistant Professor of Surgery and Pediatrics. At Texas Children's Hospital, Sohail has served as the Austin Surgery Lead and Pediatric Surgeon. Sohail has also undertaken leadership roles as the Trauma Medical Director, Chief Surgical Officer, Surgical Director of Perioperative Services, and Surgical Director of Mark A. Wallace Tower Operating Rooms at Texas Children's Hospital. Before that, they worked at Children's Mercy Hospital Kansas City as the Surgical Director of Telemedicine and Outreach, Medical Director of 2 Henson (Inpatient Surgical Unit), and as a Pediatric Surgeon.

Sohail Shah completed their Bachelor's degree in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin from 1992 to 1996. Sohail then pursued a Master of Science degree in Health Care Administration from Houston Christian University from 1997 to 1999. Continuing their education, Sohail Shah earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Texas A&M University School of Medicine between 1999 and 2003. Sohail completed a General Surgery Residency Program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City from 2003 to 2005 and a Surgical Research Fellowship at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center from 2005 to 2008. Sohail Shah continued their residency training with a General Surgery Residency Program at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center from 2008 to 2011. Sohail subsequently pursued a Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at Children's Mercy Hospital from 2011 to 2013. Most recently, Sohail Shah obtained a Master of Science degree in Clinical Research from the University of Kansas Medical Center.
