David Forbes

David Forbes has extensive experience in the field of posttraumatic mental health. David began their career at the Austin & Repatriation Medical Centre in 1995, where they served as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in the Veterans PTSD Unit until 1999. From there, they moved on to the National Centre for War-Related PTSD, where they worked as the Deputy Director until 2000. In 2000, they joined the Australian Centre for Posttraumatic Mental Health as a Clinical Specialist focused on PTSD. David later became the Clinical Director and eventually the Deputy Director of the organization, serving in these roles until 2011. In 2011, they also held the position of Interim Director at the Australian Centre for Posttraumatic Mental Health. Finally, they became the Director of Phoenix Australia - Centre for Posttraumatic Mental Health in 2011.

David Forbes holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology from the University of Melbourne, which they completed in 1987. Later, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Clinical Psychology from the same university, completing it in 1994. David further enriched their educational accomplishments by obtaining a PhD in Psychology from the University of Melbourne in 2005.
