Akshaya Kumar Moharana

Akshaya Kumar Moharana, Ph.D, P.Eng has a diverse work experience in the field of power systems engineering. Akshaya Kumar has spent the majority of their career at Powertech Labs Inc. where they have held various positions. Currently, they serve as the Team Lead for Compliance Studies. Prior to this role, they were a Specialist Engineer and a Senior Engineer at the same company. Their responsibilities in these roles included conducting power systems studies and analysis.

Before joining Powertech Labs Inc., Dr. Moharana was employed at The University of Western Ontario. Akshaya Kumar worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow and also served as a Teaching Assistant. Additionally, they were a Research Assistant, where they worked on various projects related to small-signal and electromagnetic transient modeling of wind turbine systems, transmission lines, HVDC systems, and grid integration of wind farms. Akshaya Kumar also contributed to the design and development of control systems for STATCOM and VSC HVDC.

Dr. Moharana's early career involved working as a Research Engineer at the Department of Science and Technology, where they focused on modeling VSC HVDC systems for a research project sponsored by the Government of India.

Overall, Dr. Moharana's work experience demonstrates their expertise in power systems studies, analysis, and control systems design in both academic and industrial settings.

Akshaya Kumar Moharana, Ph.D, P.Eng completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Utkal University in 2005. Akshaya Kumar then pursued further education and obtained a Doctorate in Electrical Engineering from Western University in 2012.
