Carly Brockinton is a seasoned professional in public affairs, marketing, and editorial functions with extensive experience across various organizations. Currently serving as Diversity Council Chair and member at the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission since January 2023, Carly has held the position of Senior Public Affairs & Marketing Specialist at the Prince George's County Planning Department since June 2017. Freelancing since January 2015 as a writer, designer, and editor, notable work includes a 90-page handbook redesign for St. Mary’s, Maryland. Previous roles include Senior Editor at the US-China Business Council, where Carly managed content for a flagship magazine and international newsletter, and Night News Editor at The Advocate, overseeing a team of editors and designers. Carly's career began in design and editing positions at various publications, including the Las Vegas Review-Journal and West Hawaii Today. Carly holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Winthrop University.
