Pedro Borda

Pedro Borda is the current Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Principal International at Principal. Pedro has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Borda started their career at Principal Financial Group in 1996 as Managing Director of Afore Co. Pedro then became Country Head of Principal Financial Group México in 2004, and President of South Asia & India in 2016. In between those positions, Borda was the ASEAN CEO of CIMB-Principal Asset Management from 2013 to 2016.

Borda returned to Principal in 2019 as Senior Vice President & COO of Principal International. In this role, they are responsible for leading the global asset management business and overseeing all aspects of Principal International’s operations.

Pedro Borda has a degree in Executive Program in Business Strategy from The Wharton School. Pedro also has a Master in Finance from UADE. Lastly, they have a degree in Agricultural Business and Management from UADE.

Pedro Borda reports to Daniel J. Houston, Chairman, President & CEO. They work with Todd Jablonski - CIO, Asset Allocation, Dennis Menken - SVP & Chief Investment Officer Principal Life Insurance Company, and Ken McCullum - SVP, Chief Risk Officer.
