People And Culture Director at Propseller

Melody Chen, MBA, has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various roles and industries. Melody is currently working at Propseller as the People and Culture Director, where they are responsible for managing the company's human resources and fostering a positive work culture. Prior to this, Melody held the position of Fractional Head of People at Propseller.

In 2019, Melody founded and served as the Director of POP Partners, a consulting firm focused on helping startups, SMEs, and scale-ups overcome challenges related to people, organization, and performance.

Melody also worked at Medallia as the Director of HRBP (APAC) from December 2022 to June 2023, where they played a key role in managing human resources for the Asia-Pacific region.

From 2020 to 2022, Melody worked at Aspire as the Head of People. In this role, they built and led the HR function, partnering with the CEO and other leaders to shape the company's people strategy and drive talent and performance management initiatives.

Before joining Aspire, Melody served as the Head of People (Interim) and a client of POP Partners at Aspire from August 2019 to November 2019.

Melody has also held positions at Wecash as the Head of People for Southeast Asia, where they were responsible for managing the HR function in the region, and at Lucasfilm as an Associate Recruiter.

Melody started their career as a Consultant at Europhia Consulting and later worked at McKinsey & Company as the Manager of Recruiting for Southeast Asia. In this role, they managed all activities related to recruiting consultants for the Southeast Asia region and successfully implemented strategies and policies that contributed to the office's growth.

Melody's work experience showcases their expertise in people management, leadership, strategic planning, and business growth.

Melody Chen, MBA, completed their education with a Global MBA from IE Business School in 2017. Prior to that, they earned a Postgraduate Diploma in HR and Talent Management from the Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) in 2012. In 2007, they graduated from the Schulich School of Business - York University with an International Bachelor of Business Administration with Honours, specializing in Business Administration and Management. Melody also attended IÉSEG School of Management in 2006, where they studied International Marketing. In addition to their degrees, Melody has obtained additional certifications, including an HR Analytics Certificate from Singapore Management University in 2019 and a Strategic Human Resources certification from LinkedIn in 2018.
