Rajendra Sharma

Computational Biology and AI Engineer at Protera

Rajendra Sharma has extensive experience in the field of computational structural biology and software development. Rajendra started their career as a Teaching Assistant at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, where they taught various subjects and programming languages to undergraduate students.

Rajendra then worked as a Research Assistant at the National Centre for Biological Sciences, focusing on studying structural changes in the EnvZ osmosensor using molecular dynamics simulations.

Rajendra went on to obtain their PhD. from the National Center for Biotechnology-CSIC in Madrid, Spain, where they applied computational methods to design allosteric protein assemblies and studied protein folding in multi-enzyme complexes.

After completing their PhD., they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at IMDEA Nanociencia, where they further honed their skills in computational structural biology and high-performance computing.

Rajendra then joined EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) as a Scientific Software Developer/Postdoc, where they contributed to building new functionality for biomolecular modeling software.

Most recently, Rajendra worked at Institut National de Recherche Agronomique (INRA) as a Scientific Software Developer/Postdoc, focusing on designing the next generation of allosteric multi-domain enzymes for industrial applications. Their work involved various computational techniques such as comparative modeling, docking, and molecular simulations.

Currently, they are employed at Protera as a Computational Biology and AI Engineer.

Rajendra Sharma completed their education as follows:

From 2013 to 2017, they attended Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biophysics.

From 2003 to 2007, they studied at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and obtained an MSc. (Hons) degree in Biological Sciences.

Continuing their education at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, Rajendra Sharma pursued a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in Biotechnology from 2007 to 2010.

In addition to their formal degrees, Rajendra Sharma has obtained several certifications. These include "Building Deep Learning Applications with Keras 2.0", "Building and Deploying Deep Learning Applications with TensorFlow", "Deep Learning: Image Recognition", "Introduction to Machine Learning with KNIME", "Machine Learning and AI Foundations: Value Estimations", "Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn", and "Mistakes to Avoid in Machine Learning" from LinkedIn, all acquired in June 2021.

Rajendra also completed a "SQL" certification from DataCamp in January 2019. In DataCamp, they have completed courses such as "Cleaning Data in Python", "Importing Data in Python (Part 1)", "Importing Data in Python (Part 2)", "Intermediate Python for Data Science", "Intro to Python for Data Science Course", "Python Data Science Toolbox (Part 1)", "Python Data Science Toolbox (Part 2)", and "pandas Foundations", although the specific dates of completion are not provided for these courses.
