Clara Tourino

Clara Tourino currently serves as Director at Switch Therapeutics since May 2023, following a significant tenure as Scientist in in vivo pharmacology at Prothena Corporation plc since May 2016, where responsibilities included leading the in vivo pharmacology team, guiding programs from target identification to candidate selection, and managing research animal facilities and staff. Prior to this, Clara held the position of Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Stanford University School of Medicine from September 2009 to May 2016, focusing on neuronal circuits related to reward and fear. Academic qualifications include a B.S. and a Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology from Pompeu Fabra University, completed in 2003. Early research experience involved collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and contributions to understanding the effects of brain receptors and lipidic signaling on behavior and metabolism.
