Andreu Vall

Andreu Vall has extensive experience in machine learning and research. Andreu is currently working as a Machine Learning Scientist at Pumas-AI, Inc., where they focus on pharmacological modeling and extracting signals from patient data to predict outcomes and guide treatment. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, focusing on machine learning approaches to drug discovery and uncertainty estimation. Andreu also worked as a PhD Researcher at the same university, where they explored machine learning approaches to music recommender systems, incorporating multimodal artist descriptions. Andreu gained industry experience as a Scientist intern at Pandora, where they worked on music recommender systems and gained exposure to machine learning models in production. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at IESE Business School, conducting research on sales effectiveness and optimal inventory control in the fashion industry. Andreu also has experience as a teaching assistant, external consultant, and research assistant in various roles throughout their career. Andreu Vall began their education journey in 2002 at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, where they pursued a Licentiate degree in Mathematics. Andreu successfully completed this program in 2008.

Following their degree in Mathematics, Andreu Vall decided to explore their passion for music and enrolled in the Aula de Música Tradicional i Popular. From 2006 to 2010, they pursued a Certificate of Traditional Instrumentalist with a specialty in Singing. Simultaneously, from 2009 to 2013, they also earned a Certificate of Traditional Instrumentalist, this time with a specialty in Percussion.

In 2013, Andreu Vall shifted their focus towards Computer Science and joined Johannes Kepler Universität Linz. Over the course of six years, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Computer Science, which they successfully completed in 2019.
