Senior Alumni Engagement Manager at Queen Mary University

The Senior Alumni Engagement Manager at Queen Mary University, New role, has a long and successful history in academia. After working as the Deputy President and Deputy Vice-Chancellor at The University of Manchester from 2014 to 2017, overseeing a £1bn budget, New role has taken on a new challenge in alumni engagement. In their previous role, New role was responsible for leadership and operational management across the entire University, including working closely with the University’s Executive Team to develop and deliver the overall strategy. New role also chaired or was deputy chair of various primary executive committees, such as the HR Sub-Committee, Change and IT Projects Sub-Committee, Internationalisation Strategy Group, and Finance and Capital Planning Sub-Committees. Additionally, they had responsibility for internationalisation, marketing and branding, and the University’s cultural institutions. Through their work, New role has successfully attracted external funding exceeding £175m for graphene and advanced materials research. They are currently using their vast experience and knowledge to lead Queen Mary University’s alumni engagement efforts.

New role reports to Gemma Marenghi, Head of Alumni Engagement. Some direct reports include New role - Alumni Engagement Manager (Volunteering), Nicole Brownfield - Alumni Engagement Officer, and Anila Memon - Alumni Engagement Manager (Events & Communications). New role works with New role - Alumni Engagement Manager (Faculties), Nilufa Yasmin - Regular Giving Manager.
