Job Category

The SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting manager will be responsible for preparing/reviewing all SEC reporting filings and related analysis to ensure the accurate reporting of financial data in accordance with US GAAP. The individual will also assist in other finance projects. The candidate will have a sustained reputation for putting the company first, as well as a values-driven work style where integrity and grit drive all behaviors, decisions and actions, SEC reporting experience (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and S-8) excellent project management skills, can work independently in a highly collaborative team environment and demonstrates a strong acumen with technical accounting research and consultations.

This position will report to the Sr. VP of Finance, Corporate Controller.

Responsibilities

SEC Reporting & Technical accounting

  • Management and preparation/review of all the SEC filings, including Forms 10K, 10Q, 8K, and S8
  • Ensure compliance with SEC regulations and GAAP reporting, including XBRL and disclosure checklist
  • Lead a formal quarterly reporting schedule including preparation of reporting calendar and Disclosure Committee agendas
  • Remain current on new pronouncements and developments. Analyze, research, and conclude on new and proposed accounting standards, and changes to reporting and disclosure requirements issued by the SEC and FASB.
  • Prepare technical accounting memorandums summarizing matters impacting the Company such as implementation of new standards, or accounting for new/material arrangements etc.
  • Perform technical research, prepare/review memos on regulatory matters that affect the company’s accounting and reporting treatment on various matters and summarize and present to management the financial implications and alternatives to issues or new accounting guidelines
  • Assist in annual revenue trainings and quarterly equity trainings to new employees
  • Involved in due diligence for acquisitions including assistance in valuation of purchase price allocation with third parties and preparation of technical accounting memos
  • Interface with executive management, external auditors and outside lawyers
  • Assist in the management of the Company’s insurance policies including preparation of renewal forms
  • Responsible for responding to other financial reporting requirements, including government surveys and informational reporting requirements.
  • Assist legal as needed in preparation of 8Ks and Proxy Statement
  • Assist on special projects as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
  • CPA required
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience (Big 4 required)
  • Possess superior organizational and documentation skills, attention to detail, strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively with internal and external professionals at all levels
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical, problem solving skills and collaborative skills
  • Must be able to make judgment calls regarding the resolution of issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; highly proficient in technical accounting writing ability
  • Must be knowledgeable in accounting for business combinations, stock based compensation, revenue recognition and leases
  • Must be familiar with preparation of statement of cashflows and earnings per share
  • Ability to multi-task on competing and deadline sensitive priorities
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels in the organization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word) required
  • Experience with Active Disclosure and Inteligize a plus

The expected salary range for this position is $130,000 USD to $160,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on the Company’s compensation practices. The salary may be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location. The position is also eligible to receive performance bonus or commission and equity in the form of restricted stock units. This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s standard employee benefits programs, which currently include health care benefits; (2) retirement benefits; (3) the amount of paid days off (paid sick leave, parental leave, paid time off, or vacation benefits); (4) any other tax-reportable benefits.
