Aoi Rivera

Aoi Rivera has extensive experience in the field of cloud infrastructure and server engineering. They started their career at Rakuten in 2009 as a Server Engineer, where they were responsible for hardware installation and maintenance of servers. They also installed and configured various types of application engines. In 2010, they transitioned to the role of Cloud Engineer and System Administrator, focusing on designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining virtualization components. They also wrote step-by-step manuals for installation and troubleshooting. Aoi then moved on to become a Server Designer, overseeing the provisioning process and optimizing configurations. In 2015, they joined Rakuten USA as a DevOps engineer and later became a System Engineer, handling DevOps responsibilities and server management. They continued their DevOps journey at Rakuten.com, holding the roles of Lead DevOps and Principal DevOps Architect. In 2020, Aoi rejoined Rakuten USA as a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, and in 2023, they joined Rakuten Americas as the Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.

Aoi Rivera obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Waseda University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. They also have several additional certifications, including Associate Cloud Engineer from Google Cloud in November 2023, HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate (003) from HashiCorp in October 2023, HashiCorp Certified: Vault Associate (002) from HashiCorp in June 2023, Juniper Networks Certified Associate - Junos (JNCIA-Junos) from Juniper Networks in 2022, CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA in November 2021, Certified OpenStack Administrator from OpenStack in February 2017, and Certified Administrator on Apache Cassandra from O'Reilly Media (exact date unknown).
