Jim Knight

Jim Knight has a diverse work experience in the field of aeronautical engineering. Jim currently holds the position of Sr. Aeronautical Engineer at RapidFlight, LLC since July 2022. Prior to that, they worked at General Dynamics as a Sr. Principal Project Engineer from January 2022 to July 2022.

Their longest tenure was at Kratos Defense & Technology Solutions, where they served as Chief Engineer from January 2011 to January 2022. In this role, Jim gained experience in leading engineering teams and IPT leads for advanced UAV systems. Jim was the Chief Engineer for a specific system, details of which are available upon request, and it was in production for the US Air Force, US Army, and several foreign customers.

Before joining Kratos, Jim worked at Boeing as an Aeronautical Engineer from September 2003 to March 2008. During this time, they focused on various aspects of aeronautical engineering, including the development of a GPS-aided integrated navigation system and extensive modeling and simulation of UAVs down to the subsystem level.

Jim Knight completed their Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1998 to 2002. Jim later pursued a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering at the same institution and successfully completed it from 2002 to 2004.
