Jeff Mori

Director of Engineering - CAT Compensation at RedCAT Systems

Jeff Mori has diverse work experience in various industries and roles.

Jeff started their career in 2005 as a Systems Administrator at Canada France Hawaii Telescope, where they improved collaboration within the company by creating an internal wiki and redesigned the company website.

In 2007, Jeff worked as a Software Developer and Tech Help Desk at Macquarie Bank, where they developed an open-protocol VBA powered MS Excel tool to enable stock traders to queue and execute multiple buy/sell orders. Jeff also provided IT support and resolved computer problems in English and Japanese.

Joining IBM in 2008, Jeff worked as a Microprocessor Verification Engineer - System Z. Jeff developed microprocessor verification code, built test environments, and collaborated with a global team.

In 2014, Jeff became a Race Car Driver briefly before transitioning to Apto Payments (formerly Shift Payments) as a Senior Full-stack Software Engineer. Jeff played a crucial role in building out an early-stage product and launching the first Bitcoin debit card in the US. Jeff also gained experience with financial card transaction messages and built authorization-stream decision logic.

From 2016-2017, Jeff worked as an Embedded Software Consultant at Blue Planet Energy Systems, where they provided remote consulting services.

Jeff later joined Impossible Labs Inc. in 2017 as a Full-stack Software Consultant. Jeff built and launched AirMiners.org with the product team and UI designer using React.

In 2020, Jeff became a Principal Full-stack Software Engineer at RedCAT Systems, where they unlocked technical scale by building and leading the development of a new common codebase. Jeff implemented DevOps processes and managed the hiring and growth of the engineering team.

Currently, Jeff holds the position of Director of Engineering - CAT Compensation at RedCAT Systems, where they continue to lead and make significant contributions to the company.

Jeff Mori received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Jeff attended Carnegie Mellon from 2004 to 2008. Prior to attending the university, they completed their secondary education at Hawaii Preparatory Academy from 2001 to 2004. Before that, they attended The American School in Japan from 1992 to 2001. Additionally, they have obtained a certification as a Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council, although the specific month and year of obtaining the certification are not provided.
