About the Role 

The Director of Marketing will lead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies to drive lead generation, sales growth, customer engagement and brand awareness. This role requires a visionary leader with extensive experience in life science research marketing, a strong analytical mindset, and a passion for driving demand generation and digital marketing initiatives.

Primary responsibilities for this role include: 

  • Develop and implement strategic marketing plans that align with the company’s overall objectives and drives growth in the life science research tools market.
  • Lead demand generation efforts to generate high-quality marketing qualified leads (MQLs) through innovative tactics and campaigns.
  • Oversee the management of digital marketing channels, with a focus on website management, SEO, SEM, and eCommerce setup and optimization.
  • Stay current with the latest marketing trends and techniques, incorporating best practices to enhance marketing effectiveness and ROI.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, service, product management, product marketing, and R&D, to develop and execute go-to-market plans for new product launches and commercial functions.
  • Analyze marketing performance data, set up dashboards, and provide insights to optimize marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Manage and mentor the marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

We are ideally looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Ph.D. in Life Sciences or MBA with a strong background in life science research marketing; a combination of both is preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in marketing within life science research, preferably with life science research tool provider experience.
  • Proven track record in driving sales through demand generation and innovative marketing tactics.
  • Extensive experience in digital marketing, including website management, SEO, SEM, and eCommerce setup.
  • Extensive experience with marketing platforms and CRM systems.
  • Experience in setting up and managing annual go-to-market plans.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Up-to-date with the latest developments in marketing and technology.
