Abigail Ampofo has a wealth of experience in the social service sector. Abigail is currently serving as the Director of Service Delivery at Refuge. Prior to joining Refuge, Abigail held the position of Regional Director of Operations at Hestia Charity from 2017 to 2021. Abigail also worked at Essex County Council as a Quality Assurance Project Manager and an Interim Workforce Capability Project Manager from 2016 to 2017. Earlier in their career, Abigail held various roles at Hestia Housing and Support, including Interim Head of New Business and Interim Director of Operations. Abigail was also the Assistant Director of Services and Group Manager during their tenure at Hestia from 2005 to 2015. Abigail's extensive experience demonstrates their expertise in managing and leading teams in the social service field.
Abigail Ampofo has a diverse education history. Abigail obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Drama and Theatre Studies from Middlesex University between 1997 and 2000. In 2003, they pursued a Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert) in Substance Misuse from St Georges Hospital Medical School, completing it in 2004.
Abigail furthered their education in 2015 by enrolling in the University of Hertfordshire. There, they earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Business Psychology in 2016. Following this, they pursued a program called Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) at Axelos, which they completed in 2017.
