About the Role:
We are looking for a Development Coordinator to support our Land Development team in all aspects of the land development process.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and submission of development applications, permit applications and permit-related clearances from agencies/organizations for various projects to obtain approval.
Assist, monitor and adhere to the Division’s schedule and budget for each project; provide regular updates to the Manager, Land Development.
Assist with the input and in the production of reporting to senior management and investors.
Property acquisition research and assist with coordination of consultants during feasibility analysis
Review existing policies, studies and reports for projects and provide a summary version to Managers
Attending internal and external meetings, prepare various items for meetings, coordinate logistics for meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and disseminate information.
Conduct internet research as requested.
Assist with record tracking and filing, purchase orders and coding, cheque requisitions and transmittals.
Review and provide reports on various industry and government policy changes.
Perform other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management.
About You:
Degree in Urban Planning, Geography or Engineering.
Previous experience in land use planning and/or working in land development industry is an asset.
Skilled with MS365 and strong research skills.
Good understanding of the planning and development process. Knowledge of the Ontario Planning Act, Ontario Provincial Policy Statement, City of Ottawa Official Plan and Zoning By-law.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Self-starter, pro-active, recognizing gaps and taking initiative to complete tasks.
Team player, working cooperatively with all members of the Land Development team, along with external and internal clients.
Comfortable assisting in the coordination of consultants and stakeholders.
Reliable and dependable; follows through with commitments.
Strong interpersonal skills; positive and professional attitude.
