Principal Scientist, Translational Medicine at Repare Therapeutics

Isabel Soria Bretones is a Principal Scientist in Translational Medicine at Repare Therapeutics since June 2022 and previously held the position of Senior Scientist I. Prior to this role, Isabel Soria Bretones completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at McGill University, focusing on mechanisms of drug resistance in breast cancer and melanoma. Isabel Soria Bretones also served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, where research centered on resistance and sensitivity to cell cycle inhibitors, as well as generating in vitro models of drug resistance. The academic journey includes a PhD in Molecular Genetics and Biomedicine from Universidad de Sevilla, a Master's degree in Biomedical Research from the same institution, and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Universidad de Granada. Research during the PhD included investigations into post-translational modifications of the DNA repair protein CtIP and its correlation with clinicopathological markers in breast cancer.
