Lead applied deep learning engineer at Rewire Neuro

Sunglyoung Kim began their career in 2016 as a Graduated Student Assistant at New York University. In 2017, they worked as a Student Researcher at NYU Langone Medical Center, where they worked on Semantic Segmentation of a mice brain Electron Microscopy Images by Pytorch, as well as Small angle x-ray scattering and wide angle x-ray scattering for tractography of human brain. In 2019, they returned to New York University as a Doctoral Student. In 2020, they joined View Labs as a Computer Vision Robotics Engineer, leading a summer internship program for generating 3D Point clouds from a 360 video by using the Structure from Motion algorithm. sunglyoung also worked on exporting a clean mesh from the point clouds, and used RTABMAP ROS with 2D Lidar + RGBD camera + IMU for making 2D and 3D maps with a differential wheeled robot. In 2022, they joined Rewire Neuro as a Lead Applied Deep Learning Engineer.

Sunglyoung Kim attended Foothill College from 2010 to 2012, where they obtained an Associate's Degree in Engineering. sunglyoung then attended San Francisco State University from 2012 to 2014, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. sunglyoung went on to attend New York University twice, first from 2015 to 2017 for a Master's Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering, and again from 2017 to 2017 for a Master's degree in Applied Urban Science and Informatics. Additionally, they hold a FE certification.
