Ivan Szpakowski

Ivan Szpakowski is the current Head of Data & Growth at Rho Business Banking. Ivan has also held previous positions as Director at Capital One, Trader/Analyst at Hartree Partners, and Founder & CEO at Academia Capital. Ivan has also been the Head of Asia Commodity Research at Citi and an Associate (Commodities Analyst) at Credit Suisse.

Ivan has a wealth of experience in analytics, big data, machine learning, customer & market research, and business strategy. Ivan has used these skills to increase profits by $100 MM at Capital One and to create value for customers and for Capital One. At Hartree Partners, they built the analytics infrastructure for the global trading firm’s new business lines. Ivan also led business development in China for metals & minerals.

As the Head of Asia Commodity Research at Citi, Ivan was responsible for providing comprehensive research and analysis of commodity markets in Asia. In this role, they were able to provide valuable insights and recommendations to clients that helped them make informed investment decisions.

As an Associate (Commodities Analyst) at Credit Suisse, Ivan was responsible for providing research and analysis on commodity markets. Ivan was able to provide valuable insights and recommendations to clients that helped them make informed investment decisions.

Ivan Szpakowski has a MA in International Economics and International Affairs from The Johns Hopkins University - Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Ivan also has a Graduate Certificate in China Studies from Hopkins-Nanjing Center. Their BA is in Chinese, Theirtory from University of Maryland. Ivan has also done IUP Chinese language study at Tsinghua University and Chinese language study at Beijing Foreign Studies University. Their schooling also includes Marin Academy. Ivan has Certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and Certification from CFA Institute in Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
