Gopannan Ramachandran

Gopannan Ramachandran has over 20 years of experience in the field of software engineering and architecture. Gopannan has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.

From 2017 to the present, Gopannan has worked as a Software Engineering Architect at Ribbon Communications. In this role, they have led the architecture of a cloud-native network function for policy and routing solutions. Gopannan has also designed solutions for intelligent toll-free routing and fraud and robocall mitigation.

Prior to their current role, Gopannan worked at Sonus from 2012 to 2017. Gopannan started as a Principal Systems Design Engineer and later became a Distinguished Systems Design Engineer. During this time, they focused on enhancing the product business and handled RFPs, wrote technical feature specifications, and evolved product licensing models. Gopannan also led the architecture and design of various solutions, including ENUM client and server solutions and policies for handling GETS/WPS and E911 calls.

Before Sonus, Gopannan worked at Wipro Technologies from 2010 to 2012. Gopannan held the role of Architect L1 and was responsible for requirement analysis, technical leadership, and system design. Gopannan also worked as a Functional Lead, managing a team and designing interfaces for Alcatel-Lucent components.

Prior to Wipro, Gopannan worked at Alcatel-Lucent from 2006 to 2009 as a Tech Lead and Team Manager. In this role, they analyzed customer requirements and converted them into technical proposals. Gopannan also managed projects and core teams throughout the development and testing phases.

Gopannan began their career at Alcatel India PVT LTD in 2000. Gopannan held various roles, starting as a Junior Software Engineer and progressing to Senior Software Engineer and Software Design Engineer. During this time, they designed enhancements for pre-paid call and number portability solutions, developed modules to improve telecom call performance, and created assembly language modules for 64-bit operations.

Gopannan Ramachandran obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree with a specialization in Computer Science from Adhiparasakthi College of Engineering. Gopannan completed their education in this college from 1996 to 2000. Prior to that, they attended Sri Sankara Vidhyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, where they completed their Matriculation and Higher Secondary education between the years 1984 and 1996.

Gopannan then pursued an Advanced Diploma in Project Management from Alagappa University, which they completed in 2005. Following that, they attended Anna University from 2006 to 2008 and earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on HR/Marketing/Finance Management.
