Toshan James

Toshan James has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Toshan worked at RISE™ Robotics as a Sr. Mechanical Engineer and Business Development, where they provided engineering support, developed new customer relations, and worked on new product line development. At Terrafugia, they were a Sr. Drive Train Engineer (Structures) responsible for designing electro-mechanical systems for a roadable light-sport aircraft. James also worked at Desktop Metal as a Mechanical Design Engineer in the R&D Hardware department, contributing to the growth of the startup and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Toshan has experience in academia as well, having worked at the University of Massachusetts Amherst as a Departmental Staff in the ECE Department, co-designing lab workshops and inspiring students in robotics. Toshan also served as an Instructional Assistant in the ECE Department, assisting students in understanding and building circuits. Prior to that, James was a Manufacturing Intern at Danaher - Jacobs Vehicle Systems, where they improved machine efficiency and implemented mechanical modifications.

Toshan James completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, studying from 2010 to 2014.
