Cheyne Scoby

Cheyne Scoby is a seasoned professional in electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) engineering with extensive experience in the aerospace and automotive industries. Currently serving as Sr. Manager of Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineering at Rivian since November 2020, Cheyne is focused on building a premier EMC engineering team and lab to enhance vehicle safety and reliability. Prior roles include Lead EMC/Power/RF Engineer at Virgin Orbit, where Cheyne spearheaded a new group within the Avionics department, and Sr. Avionics EMI and Survivability Engineer for the LauncherOne program. Additional experience encompasses positions at Virgin Galactic, Planet Labs, Space Exploration Technologies, and academic research roles at UCLA and UC Santa Barbara, culminating in a Ph.D. in Accelerator and Charged Particle Beam Physics from UCLA. Cheyne has also contributed to the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, earning commendations for involvement in joint training activities.
