Alexander Drong

Director, Data Science at ROME Therapeutics

Alexander Drong has held a variety of roles in the field of data science and bioinformatics since 2009. In 2008, they were a Wellcome Trust Summer Student at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, University of Oxford. Alexander then went on to become a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at UC Irvine in 2009. In 2010, they were a Wellcome Trust DPhil Student at the University of Oxford. In 2013, they were President of the Graduate Common Room at Christ Church, Oxford. From 2015-2017, they were an MRC Skills Development Fellow in Bioinformatics at the Big Data Institute, University of Oxford. From 2017-2018, they were a Visiting Researcher at Columbia University in the City of New York. From 2018-2020, they were a Bioinformatics Scientist at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Alexander is currently the Director of Data Science at ROME Therapeutics, a position they have held since 2022.

Alexander Drong attended the University of Oxford from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Master's degree in Chemistry. Alexander then continued their studies at the University of Oxford, graduating in 2015 with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Genomic Medicine and Statistics.
