Farooq I.

Farooq I. has a diverse work experience spanning from 2008 to 2022. Farooq started as a Bus Driver at National Express in 2008 and later became a Claims Manager at Hire Alert Ltd, where they set up the business from scratch and negotiated compensation for clients.

In 2014, Farooq joined IBM as a Trainee Software Engineer, where they tested software, developed applications, and conducted Quality Assurance testing. Farooq then worked at Aston Active Software Engineering as an Intern, where they developed requirements for the Module Database and gained experience in MySQL, HTML, XML, Java Servlets, and Selenium WebDriver.

From 2016 to 2018, Farooq served as a Summer Intern and later a Back End Developer at Beautiful Canoe, where they developed and maintained an Activity Reporting System using Java, Hibernate, and Spring frameworks. Farooq then joined NetSupport Limited as a Back End Developer, focusing on developing REST API microservices using Node.js, Express, Sequelize.js, MSSQL, and MongoDB.

Farooq's next role was as a Software Engineer (remote) at Holiday Extras, where they specialized in frontend web development using React.js and Backbone.js. Farooq then worked as a Full Stack Engineer at DGauge, where they implemented a backend solution for railway gauging software and integrated existing code using JavaScript/TypeScript, VB.Net, and C#.

Most recently, Farooq joined Griffiths Waite as a Senior Software Engineer, taking ownership of delivering API solutions and collaborating across the entire stack to provide high-quality solutions. Farooq has expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and rapid development of proof of concept integrations.

Currently, Farooq is working as a Software Engineer at NatWest Rooster Money, utilizing their skills in software engineering.

Farooq I. pursued their education in Computer Science at Aston University from 2012 to 2016, obtaining a Bachelor's Degree. Before that, from 2011 to 2012, they completed an Access to HE Diploma in ICT with a focus on Information Technology at South Birmingham College. In addition to their formal education, Farooq also obtained certifications such as Level 1 Sumo Pro User and Level 2 Sumo Power User from Sumo Logic in January 2019.
