Thomas Skou Grindsted has a diverse work experience in academia and sustainability. Thomas currently serves as the Research Group Lead at Roskilde University, where they focus on mobility, space, place, and urban studies. Thomas is also the Project Manager for the New Roads in Nature Park Åmosen project. Previously, they worked as an Assistant Professor of Geography and Planning and served on the Sustainable Advisory Board at Roskilde University. Thomas is currently an Associate Professor of Sustainability and Geography at the Department of People and Technology, Roskilde University. Thomas has also worked as a Guest Researcher at King's College London and held positions as a Board Member at RCE Denmark and NUAS Sustainability. In addition, they served as a Lay Magistrate/Lay Judge at Københavns byret. Thomas's academic journey began as a Ph.D. student at Roskilde University, where they focused on the geographies of the Anthropocene and the cultural politics of representing global environmental change. Thomas has also been an External Lecturer at Roskilde University and a Visiting Researcher at Lund University, The University of British Columbia, and Roskilde University. Thomas Skou Grindsted completed their Master's degree in Geography and Environmental Science from Roskilde University from 2005 to 2010. In 2009, they also participated in an exchange program at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, specializing in Environmental Science.
