Ty Dickinson

Climate Scientist at Salient Predictions

Ty Dickinson is a Climate Scientist at Salient, a position held since August 2023. Prior to this, Ty served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Oklahoma from August 2018 to August 2023, where an algorithm was developed to define databases of extreme precipitation events and deep neural networks were employed to enhance predictability capabilities. Earlier experience includes working as an Undergraduate Student Assistant at the Southern Climate Impacts Planning Program, contributing to the creation of the Southern Climate Monitor newsletter and assisting with workshops, as well as serving as a Research Intern at the National Weather Service Austin/San Antonio, where climatological data for severe weather was developed. Ty holds a PhD in Meteorology and a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology, both from the University of Oklahoma.
