Michael Lei

Michael Lei has extensive work experience in the field of hardware product management and marketing. Michael is currently employed at Samsara as the Director of Hardware Product Management. Prior to this, they worked at Spirent Communications as the Senior Director of Product Management, where they led a team of 12 product managers and managed a large portfolio with yearly revenues exceeding $200 million. Before that, they held the position of Director of Hardware Product Management at Teletrac Navman, where they oversaw the global IoT hardware product portfolio and played a key role in defining product roadmaps and leading the RFP process for hardware platform co-development. Michael also has experience as a Founder of Innov8tive Concepts LLC and worked in various management and marketing roles at Juniper Networks, Syniverse Technologies, VERISIGN, T-Mobile, inCode (a division of Ericsson), and Lockheed Martin. Their areas of expertise include network testing and assurance, cybersecurity, positioning validation, telematics, and satellite communications.

Michael Lei has a diverse education history. Michael started with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University, which they obtained from 1994 to 1998. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Wireless Communications from Virginia Tech, completing it from 1999 to 2001.

After their initial degrees, Michael decided to enhance their skill set by gaining further education in business and marketing. In 2012, they completed the Product Marketing Certification program from Pragmatic Institute. The same year, they also engaged in continuing education in Marketing/Marketing Management from Harvard Business Publishing Corporate Learning.

In recent years, Michael has focused on developing their business acumen. Michael obtained a CORe (Credential of Readiness) in Business from Harvard Business School Online during 2018-2019. In the same period, they also achieved a Negotiation Mastery Certification from the same institution.

Additionally, Michael holds a certification as a Certified Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance, although there is no information on when they obtained this certification.
