Kathleen Fardeen

Kathleen Fardeen is the Vice President of Human Resources at San Diego Blood Bank, overseeing all people operations including Human Resources and Volunteer Services. She joined the Blood Bank in 2020 because she is passionate about community health and medical research. She was drawn to San Diego Blood Bank’s mission of serving the community by connecting blood donors with people in need.

Prior to the Blood Bank, Kathleen was one of a handful of trusted entrepreneurial-minded employees who helped launch a high-growth tech start-up in San Francisco. As Director of Human Resources at Samba TV, Kathleen and her team created and implemented foundational human resources business processes, policies and systems while adding four hundred new employees in five years. She has served as a founder and administrator for an accredited, independent college prep school in North County and served in a variety of leadership positions across departments at Stanford University, including Human Resources, the Office of the Dean of Research and Graduate Policy and the Independent Research Laboratories.

Kathleen is a graduate of Western Washington University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Education.
