Rob Nelson

Rob Nelson, SPHR has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Rob started their career at Albuquerque Academy in 1981 as the Director of Computer Services and held this role until 1996. Following this, from 1996 to 2005, they worked at Hub International as the VP and CIO for the Southwest region. In 2005, Rob joined Sandia National Laboratories, where they held various positions including Technical Staff from 2005 to 2010, Deputy Director of HBE from 2010 to 2012, Director of HBE from 2012 to 2016, and currently holds the position of Director of HR.

Rob Nelson, SPHR has an educational background with a MSE degree in Computational Engineering from Purdue University (2006-2010), an MBA from the University of Denver (1988-1990), and a BS degree in Computer Engineering from The University of New Mexico (1981-1985). Rob also attended Albuquerque Academy for high school (1973-1981). Furthermore, they have obtained certifications such as the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (2020, 2017, 2023) from HRCI, a Collective Bargaining Studies Certificate from Cornell University, and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification. Rob also has a Strategic Talent Acquisition (STA) Certification from the Human Capital Institute (HCI).
