Matt Shirley

Matt Shirley is an experienced engineering professional with a background in the cycling industry, currently serving as the Production Engineering Manager at Santa Cruz Bicycles since February 2019. Previously, Matt held positions at Smith Optics from September 2011 to January 2019, including Product Engineer II and Product Engineer, where responsibilities focused on reducing scrap, cycle times, and increasing quality through part design, material selection, and process standardization. Earlier roles include Service Manager at Lone Star Sports and Shop Manager at Road 34 Bike Shop, complemented by hands-on experience as a mechanic at The Singletrack Factory and as a race mechanic for Yeti Cycles. Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University, attended from 2004 to 2009, and graduated from Denver South High School in 2004.
