Barry Martin

Barry Martin has a diverse work experience that spans different roles and companies. Barry started their career at TMC, a division of C.H. Robinson Worldwide, Inc, where they worked as a Senior Logistics Analyst from February 2007 to November 2012. Following this, they became an Operations Manager at the same company from November 2012 to January 2014.

Barry then joined C.H. Robinson as a Senior Data Analyst in January 2014 and held this role until August 2021. In this position, they developed apps and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, Python, SSRS, R, and Flask. Barry also created pipelines using Python, Airflow, and Hadoop, as well as developed database schemas and complex queries in MS SQL and Postgres.

Barry'smost recent work experience is with Zelis, where they started as a Software Engineer in August 2021. In this role, they worked with big data solutions, creating data pipelines, databases, automation, and applications in an AWS environment. Barry utilized technologies such as Spark, Airflow, Postgres, and Python. Barry then transitioned to the role of a Data Science Engineer in July 2022, where they continue to work with similar technologies and focuses on creating data solutions for the company.

Barry Martin obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma. Barry then went on to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology (Programming concentration) from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. In addition to their formal education, Barry also obtained certifications in Flask Rest APIs and React from Udemy, as well as a Python Data Analyst certification from Dataquest.io. The Flask Rest APIs and React certifications were obtained in February 2020, while the Python Data Analyst certification was obtained in September 2019.
