Consultant | Market Research | Business Team | Transport/rail Focus

Full-time · London, United Kingdom

Job description

Savanta is one of the fastest growing agencies in market research with teams in the UK, Americas, and APAC. With technology at the heart of our business, we inform and inspire clients to Make Better Decisions through powerful data, high impact consulting, and bespoke solutions.

Our market-leading products and specialist teams in sector, methodology, and audience (e.g., students, and high net worth individuals), help clients ranging from global giants to locally loved brands, government bodies, and non-profits.

We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has a positive attitude and is eager to manage research projects across a wide range of methodologies, including quantitative research conducted in person by our Fieldwork team. The role will involve working on several rail-related trackers as well as varied ad-hoc projects.

Led by experienced senior insights consultants who are committed to developing and inspiring more junior colleagues, this dynamic team provides a fun environment where the right person can learn, develop and progress quickly.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a researcher with strong agency experience to join our Business team.  This team advises and supports a variety of clients in technology & telecommunications, travel & transportation, regulated industries (e.g., utilities, financial services), manufacturing, and the public sector on business issues, enabling them to make strategic decisions based on robust insights and analysis.

The team conducts both ad-hoc and tracking research, and almost all members are methodology agnostic, working on both quantitative and qualitative research. Their research audiences include business decision makers, stakeholders, the general public and niche audiences (e.g., people in vulnerable situations).

This role involves around half of your time managing projects for the rail industry, including train operating companies, industry bodies and Government departments.  These projects would include overseeing quantitative research conducted in person by our fieldwork team.

The role will involve career managing and supporting junior members of the team, leading by example to create an open and supportive team environment.

No two days are the same in this role! You will:

  • Lead on smaller projects, from design through to insight

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure successful project delivery

  • Be in regular contact with clients to maintain a strong client relationship. Daily interactions allow you to understand their needs, address their requests promptly, and keep them updated on project progress

  • Coordination with Internal Teams and External Suppliers

  • Prepare insightful reporting outputs

  • Summarise intricate information into clear, visually appealing presentations to help convey key messages effectively

  • Attend debriefs and participate in result presentations to clients

About You

  • You will have a flair for quantitative and qualitative research, with an understanding of research methods and be able to utilise them to meet clients’ needs

  • You will thrive on variety and challenge and be able to balance competing demands on your time

  • Experienced in nurturing client relationships, with the ability to articulate insights to clients

  • Have a passion for finding stories within data and bringing these to life through reports and presentations

Ideally, you will have experience in either transport/rail research or managing face-to-face quantitative research, but we’re also keen to hear from candidates with other research backgrounds eager to get more involved in these areas.
