This position sits within the Americas RIC team, specifically the North America Qualitative Practice Group (QPG). At the heart of Savanta is a growing Qualitative Specialist Practice whose primary aim is to empower clients through empathy - the core belief being to truly understand audiences and inspire change, you need to walk in their shoes. 

About the Role

Our qualitative research facilitates a deep connection with the lives, opinions, and behaviour of customers. This is where the group’s human-centric approaches excel. We dig deeper with ethnographies and step into the respondent’s world – via shop-alongs, eye-tracking studies, and other smart techniques.

Through a suite of qualitative and implicit approaches that assess human emotion, cognition and actions, our Qualitative Practice supports a broad range of clients to explain the “why” behind the “what”.

As a Qualitative Research Manager, you will play a hands-on role in the delivery of high-quality research projects, applying your knowledge, expertise, and analytical skills to support clients in better decision-making. You’ll work across multiple projects simultaneously. On larger projects, you will report to project leads. On smaller projects, you may lead the day-to-day on the project with limited oversight, and a remit to develop your role such that you become the ‘go-to’ person for the client on the account.

The successful candidate will have experience in and passion for qualitative research methods, in both online and in-person formats, including moderation of focus groups and IDIs for B2C and B2B clients. Knowledge of projective techniques, concept-testing, usability interviews, diary studies, contextual inquiry/observations, and/or ethnographic exploration is required. Experience in quantitative methods is required, as many projects will be mixed methodology studies.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in market research, specifically qualitative research.

In addition:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Research, Design, Anthropology, Sociology, Cognitive Psychology, or a related discipline

  • Expert knowledge of qualitative research techniques, such as moderating digitally in IDIs, FGs and/or face-to-face

  • Solid knowledge of quantitative research techniques, analysis and reporting

  • Excellent client/stakeholder management skills from scoping and design through the duration of a research project lifecycle

  • Experience with storytelling and other narratives to create deep empathy for customers and their needs

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Enthusiastic, friendly, client-orientated, capable of managing own projects and workload

  • Mastery of English (native level preferred); fluency in a second language is a bonus

  • A keen eye for detail and accuracy
