Senior Specialist Scientist (oceanographer) at Scottish Environment Protection Agency

Erin King is a Senior Specialist Scientist (Oceanographer) at the Scottish Environment Protection Agency since July 2020. Previously, Erin served as a Visiting Specialist at the University of Plymouth from September 2016 to April 2022, focusing on workshops related to trans and non-binary experiences in healthcare, and conducted a PhD with an emphasis on hydrodynamics and sediment transport through the NERC BLUECoast project. Additional roles at the University of Plymouth included Teaching Support Assistant and Research Assistant in Coastal Dynamics. Erin has also contributed as a Hydrodynamic Modeller for the GCRF Sustainable Abalone Ranching in South Africa project. Prior military experience includes serving as an Officer Cadet in the British Army and as a Tribe Leader for The Bushcraft Company. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Coastal Oceanography, a Master’s Degree in Applied Marine Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Exploration from the University of Plymouth, along with a course in hydraulic engineering from Delft University of Technology.
