Scout Motors Internship Program

We will provide aspiring professionals with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with our talented, inclusive, and entrepreneurial teams. Undergraduate Interns will immerse themselves in the EV landscape, gaining exposure to the latest trends, technologies, and market dynamics. Interns will be assigned meaningful projects aligned with Scout’s goals. These projects will challenge interns to apply their academic knowledge in real-world scenarios, fostering problem-solving skills and creativity while working under the mentorship of our leaders.

This program is designed for current undergraduate students who live in our local market. Please note that no housing stipend is provided. 

2024 Internship Program Overview

• Schedule: The program is anticipated to run mid-May to mid-August 2024
• Duration: Our internship program runs approximately 12 weeks, with the official end date varying dependent upon student needs and the start of respective Fall academic calendars
• Transportation + Housing: our Interns will be responsible for providing their own housing and transportation

Important Notes:

• Scout Motors will not provide relocation or sponsorship as part of our Internship program
• High preference for currently enrolled Juniors or Seniors majoring in Marketing, Communications, or a similar field
• Deadline: applications for the program must be received no later than March 8, 2024. 

Location & Travel Expectations: This role is on-site, and will be based out of our Scout Motors location in Novi, MI. The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. 

Housing & Sponsorship: Scout Motors does not provide visa sponsorship or housing assistance for internship positions.

About the team

As an Intern, Product Management Body Systems, you will play a crucial role in the development and enhancement of our electric vehicles' body systems. You will work closely with our product management team to research, analyze, and implement strategies to optimize the design, functionality, and user experience of our EV body systems.

Daily Responsibilities of the Internship Program include

• Collaborate with product managers to define requirements and specifications for EV body systems, including exterior panels, doors, windows, and structural components.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices in EV body system design and engineering.
• Assist in the development of product roadmaps, feature prioritization, and release planning for body system enhancements and upgrades.
• Support cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Participate in prototype testing, validation, and user feedback sessions to iteratively improve body system performance and usability.
• Generate reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.

• Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program for Automotive Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field as a Sophomore or higher
• Must be able to work from Novi, MI from mid-May to mid-August
• Strong interest in electric vehicles, automotive engineering, and sustainable transportation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management tools is preferred.

Pay Transparency

This is a paid internship program.

Initial base salary range = $25.00 per hour
