Senior Research Scientist at Sea6 Energy

Balamurugan Ayyakkalai PhD has a diverse work experience. Balamurugan Ayyakkalai started in 2013 as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Ulsan. In 2016, they moved to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they worked as a Research Associate. Balamurugan Ayyakkalai's project outcomes included developing a substrate independant approach for dense cleavable polymer brushes by using nitroxide mediated polymerizations, and surface-initiated nitroxide-mediated polymerization (SI-NMP) to grow polystyrene (PS) brushes on the coating with a sacrificial layer designed to cleave the brushes. In 2019, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Ottawa, and also began working as a Research Scientist at Sea6 Energy Pvt Ltd.

Balamurugan Ayyakkalai PhD obtained their Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Gandhigram Rural Institute in 2002-2005. Balamurugan Ayyakkalai then went on to receive their Master's Degree in Chemistry from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2005-2007. During 2007-2013, they obtained both their Doctor of Philosophy in Conjugated Polymers, Lanthanide Complexes, Luminescent Materials from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research, as well as their Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Kerala.
