Shiyan Yang serves as a Senior Research Scientist at Seeing Machines since October 2017, where leadership is provided in developing research roadmaps and projects that drive innovation in driver monitoring systems (DMS). Yang translates these roadmaps into actionable insights through flagship projects and leads the analysis of extensive data to support various stakeholders. Prior to this role, Yang was a Research Scientist specializing in human factors, contributing to core algorithm development. Experience also includes a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the University of California, Berkeley, and a Research Assistant role at Texas A&M University, focusing on driver stress measurement and multimodal display design. Yang holds a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor's degree in Transportation Engineering from Southeast University.
