Branon Barrett has worked in the software engineering industry since 2007. Branon began their career as a GIS Specialist/Developer at Colorado State University in 2007. Branon then worked as a GIS Software Engineer for SAIC from 2008 to 2010. In 2010, they were a GIS Software Engineer for The Rothwell Group, L.P. From 2012 to 2016, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Denver Water, where they designed and developed mobile GIS and work tracking applications using AngularJS, Leaflet, .NET, SQL Server, and RabbitMQ. In 2016, they became Lead Developer at BlueFletch, where they were responsible for design and development of enterprise and consumer facing mobile applications using React, React Native, AngularJS, nodejs, Android, AWS, and .NET. In 2017, they joined SemanticBits as Director of Software Engineering, Software Architect, and Senior Software Engineer.

Branon Barrett attended the University of Colorado Denver from 2004 to 2007, where they earned a degree in Geography with a focus on GIS, Computer Science, and Environmental Science. Branon has also obtained several certifications from Pluralsight, including Big Data: The Big Picture, Building AngularJS and Node.js Apps with the MEAN Stack, Building Mobile Apps With the Ionic Framework and AngularJS, Building a Real-time, Isomorphic App with React, Flux, Webpack, and Firebase, Entity Framework Database Performance Anti-patterns, and Practical Data Modeling With C# and SQL Server.
