Sanjeev Kumar Katare has a diverse work experience in various companies and industries. Sanjeev has held positions such as Vice President and Head of HSSE & CSR for India Renewable Business at Sembcorp Green Infra Limited, Regional Senior EHS Leader for South Asia / Asia Pacific Region at GE Renewable Energy, Head EHS at GMR Energy Limited, Manager OHS at ABB, Deputy Manager EHS at Motherson Sumi Systems Limited, and Safety Engineer at CMS Energy Operations & Maintenance Company Private Limited. Sanjeev has a strong background in managing health, safety, and environmental functions, overseeing EHS teams, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Sanjeev has also served in advisory roles and represented their companies in various committees and councils.

Sanjeev Kumar Katare holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, which they obtained from 1996 to 2000. Sanjeev later pursued a Master's degree in Industrial Safety Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, from 2000 to 2002. Sanjeev also acquired an International General Certificate in Construction Safety from The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety & Health (NEBOSH) in 2012.

Currently, Sanjeev is working towards a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Materials Engineering at AMITY University Gurgaon, a program they began in 2019 and is expected to complete by 2023. Sanjeev is a Certified Safety Professional and an Associate Safety Professional, both awarded by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) in the USA.

In addition to their formal education, Sanjeev has obtained various certifications, including "Building Resilience as a Leader" from LinkedIn, "Industrial Hygiene" from GE Renewable Energy, and "NEBOSH IGC" from NEBOSH. Sanjeev has also completed certifications in areas such as Business Excellence Assessor, Electrical Safety, Work at Height & Wind Rescue Training, IEMA Approved Advanced EMS Auditor, and Lead Auditor & Implementer on OHSAS 18001. Sanjeev has also received training on Trade Union & Safety Committee from the National Safety Council.
