Jonathan Welch has a long and varied work experience. Jonathan began their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of West Florida in 2008. Jonathan then moved on to Harvard University in 2009 to pursue a Graduate Student position in Quantum Computing/Information. In 2014, they held a Research Intern position at Microsoft, where they implemented exact quantum circuit decomposition for diagonal operators over Walsh basis in the QuArC Liquid framework. In 2015, they became a Senior Research Scientist at IDL DEVELOPMENT LLC, where they designed experiments and protocols to screen for high energy x-ray and gamma ray emissions from prototype reactors. In 2018, Jonathan Welch was a Quantitative Research Analyst, Machine Learning at 361 Capital, where they developed a comprehensive trade cost analysis engine and a Wavelet Analysis workflow for identifying high frequency noise components in market signals. In 2019, they were a Principal Data Scientist at TruU, Inc., where they managed data scientists on projects related to gait and keyboard biometrics and developed a Windows 10 Kernel Driver for keystroke collection. In 2020, they became the Director, Vision Technologies at Sensory, Inc. Currently, Jonathan Welch is the Head of Data Science at Albert Invent.

Jonathan Welch obtained their Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of West Florida in 2009, after having studied there from 2005. Jonathan then went on to Harvard University, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Physics in 2015.
