Daniel Meyer has served as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of [Shake Shack](/org/shake-shack) since January 2010. Mr. Meyer is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of [Union Square Hospitality Group](/org/union-square-hospitality-group-llc) (“USHG”), which owns and operates the following restaurants: Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern, Blue Smoke, Jazz Standard, The Modern, the Cafes at MOMA, Maialino, Untitled, Studio Cafe, North End Grill, Porchlight, Marta, Cafe Marchio, Vini E Fritti, Martina, and Daily Provisions; and an event services business, [Union Square Events](/org/union-square-events).

Diane has over twenty years of human resources experience scaling teams to build foundational practices to enhance corporate brands. Most recently, she served as the Chief People Officer for The Piada Group, LLC.  Prior to that, Diane was employed as the Director of Human Resources, Compliance and Employee Relations for P.F. Chang’s China Bistro Inc. and Pei Wei Asian Diner.  In her position, she was responsible for working with the management team in creating and implementing training and development, recruitment strategies, employee relations and engagement, as well as compliance initiatives. Prior to P.F. Chang’s, she held various human resources leadership roles at Grimaldi's Coal Brick Oven Pizzeria, Inc., McKesson Corporation, Fender Musical Instruments and AON Hewitt. Throughout her career Diane has been responsible for leading the creation and implementation of training, development, and recruitment strategies, employee relations and engagement, performance management, HR compliance initiatives and compensation. 

Diane has a B.S in Business Administration from [Providence College](/org/providence-college), in Rhode Island. She is also a Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and holds a Human Resource Certificate from the Corporate Executive Council.

Randy Garutti has served as [Shake Shack](/org/shake-shack)’s Chief Executive Officer and on the board of directors since April 2012. Prior to becoming Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Garutti served as our Chief Operating Officer since January 2010. Prior to leading [Shake Shack](/org/shake-shack), Mr. Garutti was the Director of Operations, overseeing the operations for all restaurants in the [Union Square Hospitality Group](/org/union-square-hospitality-group-llc) (USHG). Mr. Garutti has worked with USHG and Danny Meyer for 15 years. In addition, Mr. Garutti served as General Manager of Union Square Cafe and Tabla, both of which won numerous accolades in the hospitality industry. Mr. Garutti graduated from [Cornell University](/org/cornell-university)’s School of Hotel Administration in 1997. Mr. Garutti was selected to our board of directors because of his leadership role in our development and growth and because he possesses particular knowledge and experience in strategic planning and leadership in the hospitality business.

Ron Palmese is the current General Counsel at [Shake Shack](/org/shake-shack). Ron has held this position since December 2014. Prior to that, they were with [Union Square Hospitality Group](/org/union-square-hospitality-group-llc) from January 2011 to December 2014, where they served as General Counsel and oversaw all legal affairs for the company. Mr. Palmese has also worked as an Associate at Proskauer Rose LLP from May 2004 to December 2010 and at [Mayer Brown](/org/mayer-brown-llp) from August 2003 to April 2004.

Ron Palmese studied international business and finance at [Georgetown University](/org/georgetown-university) before going on to earn their Juris Doctor at St. John's University School of Law.

Jay Livingston is the current Chief Marketing Officer at [Shake Shack](/org/shake-shack). Prior to this, they served as the Chief Marketing Officer at [BARK](/org/bark) from July 2017 to January 2019. At [BARK](/org/bark), they were responsible for growth and marketing and oversaw all digital, traditional, affiliate, influencer, and social marketing, as well as PR, sponsorships, and partnerships. Under Jay's leadership, [BARK](/org/bark) generated over $200MM in revenue in 2018 and went public in 2021.

Before joining [BARK](/org/bark), Jay worked as an investor and Senior Vice President of Global Marketing at [Bank of America](/org/bank-of-america) from January 1994 to December 2014. During their time at [Bank of America](/org/bank-of-america), they were responsible for the bank's global marketing efforts.

Jay has extensive experience in marketing and has proven himself to be a successful leader. Jay is a strategic thinker with a track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns. Jay is a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.

Jay Livingston attended [Miami University](/org/miami-university) for their Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Minor in Political Science. Jay then attended Webb School of Knoxville for their field of study.

Dave Harris has been in the tech industry for over 20 years. Dave started their career as a software engineer and has since held various positions in IT management. Dave is currently the Chief Information Officer (CIO) at [Shake Shack](/org/shake-shack).

Dave Harris’ experience includes working as Vice President of Digital Technology at [Newell Brands](/org/newell-brands) from 2016 to 2018. In this role, they were responsible for the company’s digital technology strategy, product management, and engineering. Dave also oversaw the development of eCommerce solutions and retail store technologies.

Prior to their role at [Newell Brands](/org/newell-brands), Harris served as Vice President / CIO of Information Technology at The Yankee Candle Company from 2013 to 2015. In this role, they were responsible for the company’s IT strategy, budgeting, and operations. Dave also led the implementation of a new ERP system and directed the migration of the company’s eCommerce platform to a new hosting environment.

Michael Kark was previously a team leader at [Chipotle Mexican Grill](/org/chipotle-mexican-grill) from June 2004 to April 2012. Michael is currently the Chief Global Licensing Officer at [Shake Shack](/org/shake-shack).

Michael Kark completed a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of Colorado Boulder - Leeds School of Business. Afterwards, they pursued a career in management at [Syracuse University](/org/syracuse-university) Madrid Campus.

Zach Koff has served as the Chief Operating Officer since January 2017. Prior to becoming Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Koff served as Senior Vice President, Operations since March 2015, Vice President, Operations since April 2012, and Director of Operations since February 2010. Prior to joining [Shake Shack](/org/shake-shack), Mr. Koff spent 8 years working in operations for Bravo Brio Restaurant Group. Mr. Koff graduated from [Cornell University](/org/cornell-university)’s School of Hotel Administration in 2002 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Administration and a concentration is law.

Katherine Fogertey is responsible for leading financial operations across the Company, including accounting and control, financial planning and analysis, operations finance, investor relations and external reporting. 

Katie has more than 15 years of financial and investment experience, including equity and derivatives research, financial modeling and forecasting, and a deep understanding and focus on the restaurant industry. Prior to joining [Shake Shack](/org/shake-shack), Ms. Fogertey spent over 15 years at [Goldman Sachs](/org/goldman-sachs) in New York City where she rose to lead analyst covering the restaurant sector. In this position, she had a heavy focus on the impact of technology and growth opportunities in the sector. Prior, she was a lead analyst for Derivatives and ETF research. She has held various leadership roles during her tenure at [Goldman Sachs](/org/goldman-sachs), including co-head of the Global Investment Research Women's Network. Katie is from St. Louis, MO and holds a BSBA from Washington University in St. Louis in Accounting, Finance and International Business.
