Chuck Deckert has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Chuck started their career as a Pastor at the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod in 1985, where they served until 1997. Chuck then transitioned into the healthcare industry and worked at QuadraMed from 1997 to 2001 as a Manager of Implementation. In 2002, Deckert joined Sharp HealthCare and held multiple positions, including Project Manager, Manager of Hospital EMR, Director of Ambulatory EHR, and Director of Portfolio and Strategic Projects, until 2009. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as the VP of Information Systems at St. Joseph Health System. Deckert then joined CHMB in 2010 as the VP of Information Services and later returned to Sharp HealthCare in 2011 as the VP of Health Information Technology Solutions.

Chuck Deckert earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Languages from Concordia University-St. Paul in 1980. Chuck then pursued a Master of Divinity degree in Religion from Concordia Seminary, completing it in 1985. In 2002, Chuck obtained an MBA degree in Business from CSUSM College of Business. Prior to their university education, they attended Henning High School, although the specific dates are unknown.
