Job description

SheerID is seeking a dynamic and visionary SVP of Global Marketing to lead our global go-to-market organizations. The SVP of Global Marketing will be responsible for developing strategies around global market expansion and brand recognition to drive growth in recurring revenue for both new and existing customers and secure SheerID’s market position as the leading global identity/community marketing solutions provider.

The ideal candidate is a data-driven and results-oriented leader who is in the science of attracting and converting leads to customers through the entire customer acquisition lifecycle. The role’s key function is to maximize new customer acquisition through demand generation programs, online presence, campaign execution and lead and channel conversion optimization. Learning from our customers and audiences, the role will build and iterate programs to drive customer acquisition and advocacy. In defining this growth strategy, this position will partner with our product and technology teams to develop an innovative product roadmap that aligns to our global GTM strategy, including owning pricing and packaging, as well as launching upsell and cross-sell campaigns to drive retention and growth into the existing customer base.

Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), the SVP of Global Marketing will be a critical member of the Revenue Leadership Team and will focus on developing and executing marketing campaigns and managing systems to exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals. This leader will closely align with the company’s sales and customer experience teams to build and manage measurable key performance indicators designed to support driving revenue objectives while also creating shareholder value. 

They will develop a comprehensive, data-driven GTM strategy to create new revenue streams, and deliver results that are measurable, predictable, scalable, and sustainable. They will be able to create and effectively communicate a GTM vision that differentiates SheerID in the market and aligns with the company’s mission to deliver cutting-edge identity verification solutions to enterprise customers.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for combining strategic thinking and leveraging technology to automate customer acquisition, retention and growth of wallet share. They will also have an exceptional track record of success building and leading an ROI-focused marketing function (people, process, systems and tools) and implementing cohesive performance-based marketing programs focused on new customer acquisition and existing customer retention and growth.

Role Specific Job Duties:

  • Communicate internally and externally a GTM vision and roadmap that differentiates SheerID and delivers incremental value to customers we serve.
  • Infuse a data-driven culture in the growth team, with alignment of KPIs by functional area.
  • Achieve customer acquisition goals through demand generation campaigns, audience building and engagement, SEO, content strategy, social media engagement, online presence (listings and reviews,) referral programs, and customer buyer journey optimization.
  • Set the GTM strategy and manage multiple marketing programs, including integrated digital campaigns, database and email marketing, email nurture and other brand campaigns. Deploy best practice marketing automation program to engage leads and accelerate their buyer journey.
  • Use an iterative, highly instrumented, personalized digital marketing strategy, and working with the sales and onboarding teams, maximize customer acquisition through optimization of every touchpoint of the buyer journey.
  • Develop content marketing strategies leveraged by a deep understanding of audience, message, business objective, market research and product positioning.
  • Build the brand into a globally recognized leader in identity marketing solutions, creating an inbound and referral program that supports our growth efforts.
  • Continually assess campaign and program performance, determine why programs succeed or fail, and identify optimization tests, growth opportunities, and pursue investment areas to drive results.
  • Foster a culture and develop a highly skilled, highly collaborative, engaged team of marketers who score high in employee happiness, engagement, development, and retention. Mentor and grow the team. Ensure the team is connected to our customers, product offerings, and value proposition.
  • Ensure responsible, timely spending against established annual operating budgets which encompass internal and external initiatives. Closely manage the unit economics across each marketing channel. Provide visibility to outcomes across the marketing organization including customer acquisition costs, campaign attribution and touchpoint metrics.
  • Have a point of view and perspective on best-in-class marketing tools and processes and partner with the Revenue Operations Team as appropriate to continuously optimize performance and outcomes. Promote the use of new technologies and techniques internally.
  • Drive accountability in key processes by shaping our performance metrics and goals across the business, and then lead the business to meet and exceed these measures.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • With an exceptional EQ, they will be an inspiring leader and communicator, capable of articulating and presenting a clear and compelling vision. They will have a proven track record in developing and retaining outstanding talent, and also be highly effective at cross-functional stakeholder management. A track record of being a strong and credible contributor to executive team decision-making is critical.

Will have experience of optimizing complex organizations, and fostering cross-functional coordination and seamless delivery against all operating KPIs. Analytical with a systematic approach to monitoring the key metrics of the business and using these to inform all management decision making. Able to balance near-term needs with longer-term requirements, and to have conviction around investment decisions in helping to steer the business.
  • LEADERSHIP & TEAM MANAGEMENT: Will have a proven track record in attracting, recruiting, managing and developing outstanding talent (of at least 30 people), and also be highly effective at cross-functional stakeholder management. Will be a strong leader and a passionate brand ambassador. Will have excellent communication skills and be adept at building strong relationships across the wider business as well as with investors
  • SCALE & GROWTH: Will have played a leading role in seeing a company through a significant period of scale. Will have experience in driving impressive revenue growth and scaling organizations. Will also ideally bring experience of launching and growing a proposition into multiple markets/verticals. Will be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously within a continuously evolving environment.

  • Experience mapping front-end and back-end consumer user journeys and mapping focused on customer engagement, conversion, and retention.
  • Experience with machine learning, artificial intelligence, and proprietary training data.
  • Familiarity with PII regulations e.g. CCPA, CPRA, GDPR, COPPA.

Strongly Preferred Experience:

  • Proven execution against performance targets in addition to tracking and delivering on key operational metrics (e.g., acquisition, engagement, conversion, return on investment) and effectively managed multi-million dollar budgets.
  • Experience building a marketing culture that focuses on data and analytics to drive decision making.
  • Proven record of successful campaign development and management across multiple marketing channels.
  • Track record of developing highly skilled, high-powered, nimble and cohesive teams.
  • Senior-level experience in the instrumentation and integration of technology tools to market, measure, and drive results.
  • Experience with leveraging CRM systems and data, SalesForce preferred.
  • Experience with at least one of the following marketing automation software: Marketo, Pardot, Eloqua or Hubspot.
  • Familiarity with standards, security, and privacy surrounding digital identity credentialing, proofing, identity attribute verification, and attribute management.
