Julien Lapointe Nguyen

Julien Lapointe Nguyen is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in software development and team management at Shopify, where Julien has progressed through various roles since October 2016, culminating in the position of Director of Engineering. Julien has successfully scaled teams from 2 to over 50 engineers, spearheading initiatives such as the development of high-impact products in multi-language and multi-currency functionalities. Prior to Shopify, Julien served as a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, focusing on backend systems that enhanced customer eligibility for shipping benefits, as well as gaining experience at Ericsson and Moment Factory. Julien holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering from Polytechnique Montréal and City University of Hong Kong, complemented by a DEC in Pure and Applied Science from Marianopolis College.
