Tara Medve

As a Philanthropy Advisor, Tara partners with individuals and families to achieve their philanthropic goals while advancing best practices in grantmaking and charitable giving. Tara also leads SVCF’s Donor Circle for the Environment, convening donors interested in learning and grantmaking together to support and grow nonprofits addressing local and regional environmental issues.

Tara has extensive experience in strategic fund development, donor engagement and nonprofit administration. Originally from St. Louis, Tara established her roots in the Bay Area at the Women’s Community Clinic in San Francisco where she spent over a decade as the Development and Communications Director. Prior to joining SVCF, Tara served as the Director of Individual Giving at Horizons Foundation, the first LGBTQ community foundation in the country.

Tara holds a B.A. in Sociology and Gender Studies from American University. Outside of work, Tara enjoys traveling, playing outdoors, and spending time with friends, family, and furry creatures.
