Hormis Tharakan

Hormis Tharakan has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Hormis is currently serving as the Vice President of Operations at Silver Hills, where they oversee manufacturing, procurement, freight, distribution, and quality control. Hormis is a member of the Executive Leadership team and reports directly to the President.

Prior to their current role, Hormis held the position of Chief Operating Officer at General Assembly Pizza. During their tenure, they were responsible for operations, sales, quality control, supply chain, engineering, restaurant management, and IT. Hormis successfully opened a new plant, increasing daily production to 5,000 pizzas and aiming to scale it to 10,000 pizzas per day.

Hormis also gained extensive experience at Nature's Path Foods, where they held multiple roles. As the Associate Vice President of Manufacturing, they managed three manufacturing plants, including one in Canada and two in the USA. These plants operated around the clock, manufacturing 2 million pounds of products each week. Hormis also served as the Associate Vice President of Supply Chain, Director of Supply Chain, Senior Manager of Materials, and Materials Manager. In these positions, they oversaw procurement, co-manufacturing, planning, capacity, distribution, and freight operations. Hormis was responsible for sourcing materials globally, managing multiple warehouses, and coordinating with a team of 20 members.

Before joining Nature's Path Foods, Hormis worked as the Director of Purchasing at Bosley's/Pet Value, where they led the buying department and handled negotiations for flyer deals, coop dollars, and contracts. Hormis also served as a Senior Price Analyst and Merchandise Manager at Best Buy and as a Category Manager at Taymor Industries.

Hormis Tharakan is Yellow Belt certified from the Kaizen Education Foundation. Hormis holds an MBA in Management and Marketing from Wayne State University.
